Manage linkedin groups7/23/2023 Groups are excellent, but hazards do exist, and most of the hazards I’ve observed are self-inflicted wounds: Life-long learning is a fact of life (and career survival) for most of us, and Groups will help you stay up-to-date.Īgain, the Group’s search function can help you find appropriate and relevant Conversations to help you advance in your knowledge. Whatever your field, people are sharing the latest information about that field with other members of relevant Groups. Then, do your research, and, if appropriate, “like” the discussion, and add an appropriate and relevant comment (be nice!). Use the Group’s simple search function to find Conversations that interest you. In particular, LinkedIn Groups are excellent sources of information about many employers, directly from current and former employees. You’ll find amazing information available in LinkedIn Groups, from job postings to scientific discoveries and everything in between. LinkedIn search function can also search through the Goup’s posts. With Groups, you can see who posted the job, and reach out directly to that person. So you can find jobs which recruiters have posted for the members of the Group. If allowed by Group management, recruiters will often post jobs in a LinkedIn Group relevant to the job. Your Profile photo will make you recognizable, like a personal logo across all Conversations (and social networks), and you will soon begin to look for the contributions of other LinkedIn “friends” by scanning for their Profile photos, too. Comment appropriately on other members’ comments and Conversations. Groups are a great way to “meet” people virtually. Comment carefully, respectfully, and knowledgeably because what you share in a LinkedIn Group is a live demonstration of who you are, how (and how well) you communicate, and how you work with others. Sharing –ĭemonstrate what you know by sharing good information you have written or found online. You won’t have trouble finding one hundred groups that can help your job search and your career. Over 2,000,000 Groups exist - for many topics like jobs and job search (like our own Job-Hunt Help Group, of course!), industries, professions, businesses and types of businesses, locations, employers (and employer alumni), technologies, hobbies, publications, and more. To focus the results on Groups, click the “Group” link above the search results, and LinkedIn will return Groups that contain your keywords. These results will typically include people and jobs as well as Groups. Type keywords describing the group you want into the search bar, hit enter on your computer or phone, and a search results page will open. It’s on the same line as the main menu links like “Home” and ” My Network.” Type your interest into the LinkedIn search barĪt the top of most pages of LinkedIn, you will find the main LinkedIn search bar. The new page will show you your current LinkedIn Groups, highlighting the most active ones you belong to. You should find the word “Groups” in that box. When you click on “Work” a small dialog box will open which offers you several options (“Learning” “Post a Job” “ProFinder” and more). Click on “Work” in the bar at the top of your LinkedIn Home or Profile pages. LinkedIn offers two primary ways to search for Groups: 1. My strong recommendation is that anyone in a job search join as many groups as they can, all one hundred if possible, at least while in job search mode. Choosing Your GroupsĮach LinkedIn member can join up to one hundred Groups, although the average LinkedIn member belongs to only seven. LinkedIn Groups can be critical to a successful job search because of the many ways you can leverage them for both visibility and credibility - when used with care.

Hd plaster patch7/23/2023 It will last longer than the wood! One question – what is the best filler to use over an exterior oil primer like Zinnser Cover Stain or water based 123 on exterior trim? I’m still refinishing some trim and after priming there’s always a few imperfections I missed before applying primer. Don’t ever have to worry about that with epoxy. There are many water based grain filler that are fine for interior use, but I could find little info on how they would stand up for exterior use. With the System Three paste I was able to apply a very thin smooth coat of just enough epoxy to fill the grain and required minimal sanding afterward. The West System with filler would have probably worked as well with but would have required more sanding. Finally I will say that System Three is similar to Abatron with a liquid and putty but adds a paste epoxy that is the bomb in certain situations. If you are doing a lot of work it’s economical by the gallon compared to Abatron. Multiple hardeners, can be turned into a paste with wood flour / dust / synthetic fillers. I really like the versatility West Systems liquid epoxy resin. They seem to be ver similar products in short time use – but guess you would have to do a long term exposure test to say for sure. Would be good to know how the newer DAP Platinum Patch compares to MH Ready Patch. If you’re on a budget this might be the answer, otherwise I would prefer WoodEpox for large repairs over Water Putty. I have moved away from it in the recent past because while it is considerably cheaper than Abatron WoodEpox I have found that it’s rock hard characteristics make large patches wiggle free of the wood over time thanks to expansion and contraction. Unlike other wood fillers that shrink as they dry Durham’s Water Putty expands to fill the hole. Water Putty can work both outdoors and indoors, but without priming and paint, it will mildew and fail rather quickly outside. Drying time varies wildly depending on how big the wood patch is and the weather. Once it is dry, sand it smooth, prime, and paint. If you need it to stick to a vertical surface, mix it thicker.Īpply it with a putty knife or whatever tool is most applicable to your project, and let it dry. If you want it to self-level, mix it thinner. Mix the powder with water to whatever consistency you need. This product is extremely popular and it used to be a mainstay of my shop early on. You can also read the results of my 5-year field testing of most of these wood fillers and epoxies at The Wood Filler & Epoxy Test (Year 5) to see how these products performed in the real world as well as to watch the video below. Are you looking for the best wood filler or something more serious like a structural wood epoxy? Is it exterior or interior? Will it be painted or left natural? We’ll focus on answers to those questions as well. The type of material you should use will depend on what kind of patching or filling you need to do. I’ll help you determine the best materials (and there are lots available) to use when the time comes to patch wood on your projects. Sometimes it’s nail holes and sometimes it’s rotten wood, but your projects will often require you to patch wood. As as restoration carpenter I do a lot of wood filling and patching and all of these products have been invaluable to me at one time or another. In this post, I’ll give you my take on the 7 best products to patch wood on the market today. What are the best products to patch wood? Well, that largely depends on who you ask.

Baked acorn squash savory7/23/2023 Stir and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the edges turn a beautiful golden brown. Toss with olive oil and season to taste with salt and pepper.Peel the acorn squash and cut it into 1 inch chunks.I prefer this savory version of acorn squash to recipes which have butter and sugar. And The Husband loved it! Savory Roasted Acorn Squash I was pretty happy with it and liked this savory version better than the kind loaded with brown sugar. I served it up with a spinach, mushroom, and bacon quiche. Because butter makes everything better, right? Then I stirred it up and roasted it for about 20 more minutes, until it was starting to turn a beautiful golden brown on the edges. After about 20 minutes, I threw in a tablespoon of butter. So I tossed it with about one tablespoon of olive oil and seasoned it with salt and pepper. The Husband said he didn’t want anything on it, but in my opinion any vegetable being roasted in my oven deserves some olive oil and seasoning. The pieces were slippery though and hard to hold on to. This allowed me to get the rest of the peel off with my peeler. I’m pretty sure I sent a seed flying across the kitchen. Then I scooped out the seeds with a spoon. Of course, the big knife got stuck, so then I had to get out a second big knife to relieve the pressure and free it. Then I got out my big knife and tried to cut it in half. It’s not that easy because of all of the grooves. Scoop out the seeds with a spoon, then slice each half into 1-inch thick slices. I managed to do it without cutting myself and it tasted good in the end, so I was pretty happy. I have to admit I have never peeled an acorn squash before. He specifically requested it peeled and cut into chunks with nothing on it. Not the kind where you cut it in half, seed it, and throw some butter and brown sugar in the cavity. I will be making this again. The Husband has been asking for roast acorn squash. FYI, it did take longer than 30-40 minutes. I liked slicing the squash in several pieces instead of just half, as I have for past meals. I did not want to over complicate my vegetables for the evening's meal and this dish was perfect. Have Had many other better recipes for AS. This was ok but more savory than sweet despite the honey. I cooked it for 45 minutes since others said it needed to be cooked longer. I also substituted maple syrup for the honey and dried marjoram for the sage. This was quite a delightful surprise, but it should be known that I used slightly more of everything while cooking only one acorn squash. Place the halves, flesh side up, on a baking sheet and sprinkle each half with salt. As with all winter squash, it's versatile and can be roasted or pured, even pickled or marinated and served as part of a relish tray or antipasto platter. 2 Halve each squash, then scrape out the seeds and stringy membranes. Acorn squash is more neutral, less intensely sweet than a butternut or hubbard squash, but like many squashes, it pairs well with a wide spectrum of flavorssweet, spicy, and savory. (to 3 tablespoons) brown sugar Pure maple syrup Directions 1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees. I did make a little more sauce than asked for and cut the squash into smaller pieces. Ingredients 2 whole acorn squash Kosher salt to taste 2 tbsp.

To send a message, you click the new message button, and a small window for composing it pops up in the lower right corner of the screen, reminiscent of how Google’s Gmail works. But here’s the kicker: MightyText Pro is 9.99 a month or 79.99 a year, making it double what Pushbullet charges, for a nearly identical service. The Pro version removes this limitation, allowing you to send as many messages as you want. The power view lets you see more messages at once (it fit eight on my screen), while the classic view gives you more space for viewing message details. Ember lounge st pete7/22/2023 īy 1963, the Flamingo also became known as a centre of the mod subculture, where fans and musicians of both jazz and R&B music would rub shoulders. In October 1962, the club was the scene of a fight between jazz fans Aloysius Gordon and Johnny Edgecombe both lovers of Christine Keeler, which ultimately led to the public revelations of the Profumo affair. You usually had to scrape a couple of people off the floor when you emerged into Soho at dawn.". It had that seedy sort of atmosphere and there was a lot of pill-popping. John Mayall described the club as "a very dark and evil-smelling basement. The Flamingo was sometimes described as an intimidating place in the early 1960s, where gangsters, pimps and prostitutes hung out with American servicemen, West Indians, and music fans, and fighting among customers was not unusual. Rik and his brother Johnny launched regular all-nighters and the ethos of the club gradually changed. Jeffrey Kruger and his father Sam continued to own the club, but its management was taken over in 1959 by Rik Gunnell, a former boxer, market worker and bouncer who had previously run an all-night club at the Mapleton Hotel with the hotel's manager Tony Harris. The club became particularly well known for its weekend "all-nighters" staying open on Friday and Saturday nights until 6.00 am, a practice which had started on an occasional basis in 1953. In April 1957, the club moved to new premises in the basement of a former grocery store at 33–37 Wardour Street, where it initially remained primarily a jazz venue with Ronnie Scott and Tubby Hayes as members of the resident band. The club rapidly gained a strong reputation attracting visiting performers such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and in 1954, Billie Holiday. The club acquired its name from the song " Flamingo", which was used as a theme tune by the resident band, Kenny Graham's Afro-Cubists. It was promoted as Britain's most comfortable club and male visitors were expected to wear ties. Jeffrey Kruger's intention was to provide a centre for high quality music in comfortable surroundings. Its first premises were in the basement of the Mapleton Restaurant at 39 Coventry Street, near Leicester Square. The club first opened in August 1952 under the ownership of Jeffrey Kruger, a London-born jazz fan, and his father Sam Kruger. No 37 Wardour Street was previously the address of the Shim Sham Club, which opened in 1935 and was known as "London's miniature Harlem". The club had a wide social appeal and was a favourite haunt for musicians, including The Who. During the 1960s, the Flamingo was one of the first clubs to employ fully amplified stage sound and used sound systems provided by ska musicians from the Caribbean. It was located at 33–37 Wardour Street from 1957 onwards and played an important role in the development of British rhythm and blues and modern jazz. The Flamingo Club was a jazz nightclub in Soho, London, between 19.
